Procedure

      This morning, I learnt A Discourse Approach in Reading about Procedure with Dr.Usa Noytim. Fist, she ordered us to described about favorite food and wrote it on own paper. Procedure tell us how to something is accomplished through a sequence of actions or steps. The teacher had the examples about procedure how to cook food or drinks such as banana shake, banana cake, omelette and chicken soup. It's fun and interesting. Then teacher had some video in a lesson from internet. It's look delicious. Today I can answer the questions almost items. I felt happy and fun because the procedure is not difficult and easy to understand.

Descriptive


         This morning, I learnt A Discourse Approach in Reading about descriptive with Dr.Usa Noytim. Teacher explained the descriptive to us. Descriptive text is a text which says what a person, a thing or place is like. I studied on the  description of anything such as Komodo Dragon, Budapest and Prague. It's difficult because I knew little vocabularies  and I tried to find the meaning of them. I feel good and happy in class with teacher because she taught students fun and understand in the lesson. She gave warm up activity by giving us answer the question about my favorite pet. Today I felt very fun with reading the text because the detail not different and I found the answer quickly. I will try to practice myself to be better.

Narrative 2


Today, I had a discourse approach in reading class. I learnt about narrative again, the title is "Secret" by Tim Winton. I learnt part two of this story. I am confused this story because some words in this story it difficult for me. I follow situation in the story with great interest. This story is exciting and impressive. I felt impressed by the end of the story. Because the twist ending of the story. Teaching about the actions of the characters. When the time is up, the teacher gave homework for us. Today I am impressed with her teaching. And I'm happy with what I am studying.



The story "Secrets" is about a young girl trying to come to terms with the changes in her family as a new step father takes over the power in her home.
In the story '' Secrets'' Tim Winton explores the life of a young girl and how her Family effects her identity. Due to her Loneliness and consent rejection from her family, she develops a low self – esteem and a feeling of sadness and depression. It has a Negative impact on her family and the way she views her family. ''She held the picture close to her face. It made her confident. It made her think Philip and her mother were stupid. It stopped her from being lonely” This give us a example of how kylie feels about her mother and the type of connection she as with her.

Kylie as always been isolated from her family and leaves her depressed, This show how family can have a bad influences on a children's identity.
Her mother and Philip were inside. She heard them arguing and wished she still lived with her father. This show how lonely she is. It also show how loneliness and low self-esteem can shape a persons identity.


In my opinion...

I dislike Kylie because she's stubbornness and bad habit.

I dislike Kylie's mother because she doesn't take care Kylie

I dislike Philip because he hit kylie

Discussing the story's symbols.

- The egg : they help her feel less lonely because they are her secret and new things in her life.

- The well : It is the problem of Kyllie.

- The photo :It is remember of Kylie when she was young and missed her father.

- Kylie's cutting of the photo : she won’t to saw the photo because It made think of  her father.

I think this story to show how family can shape our personality and identity.

Narrative


This morning I learnt about the narrative in A discourse Approach in reading class. The teacher taught us about the purpose and types of narrative, text organization and language features. She described and read the Secrets title and gave us practice to complete summary of the story. Next the teacher ordered us to read the simple narratives and asked the question. This story was interesting and exciting. But I don't understand some words in this story. I opened the dictionary to found the meaning of difficult words. Today the weather was good for me. I felt relaxed and enjoyed to learn English.

Recount 2


Today, I learnt a Recount again with Dr.Usa Noytim. I did the exercise ''An Excursion to the Botanic Gardens" and the teacher had highlight noun, pronoun, verb, conjunction and action verb in the sentence. I had problem to learn a Discourse Approach in Reading because I don't know the meaning of vocabularies in this story. Teacher is committed to teach us so much. You are my teacher at very good. Thanks for everything you've done for us. I will try to learn English to more and more.

Recount 1



Today, I had a special class on Sunday. The teacher taught in the same topic from last class that was Discourse Marker. I learnt a Discourse approach in Reading about recount. Recount had 3 types for example Personal Recount, Factual Recount and Imaginative recount. I studies about a Recount in the topic is My Grand’s Funeral in Toraja. It is culture in Indonesia. I had learnt a lot from this story. I thought this lesson is difficult for me because I don't know some vocabularies in the exercise. But I guessed from context. I spend a lot of time on find words meaning in dictionary. This story is interesting and wonder made me get the new knowledge. However I will try to learn myself. Today, I don't feel well because I have a cold and headache.

Discourse markers



        Today, I had a Discourse Approach in Reading class with Asst.Prof.Dr. Usa Noytim. It was the first day the classes began of 2 term. The teacher started Course Introduction and taught discourse markers. She gave us a list of discourse markers and gave us the examples. I thought the first day was happy and fun. But she is quite intensive in teaching. This class was difficult for me and confused to using the words because I don’t know enough vocabularies and mistake interpretation. In my opinion ,I should be better learning more vocabularies. But I will tried to do the exercises and homework.



        Discourse markers are words that link two sentences together. They are also known as linking words, linking phrases or sentence connectors. These are words like however, although, nevertheless and are rarely used in speech, unless it is very formal.

My Perception and Attitudes


My Perception and Attitudes
        When I learned, sometimes I didn't understand in my lesson because I didn't know about vocabulary. When I asked my friend about homework, my teacher thought, I was talkative.

       I think this subject make me have more knowledge and I can apply to my routine. Thank you very much my teacher who is glad and patient to teach me.

Today I had test a Writing for communications 1 about Telephone Messages, Requests, Completing Forms, Small Advertisements and Itineraries. The test takes about 1 hour. It was not difficult but not easy. When finished test, All groups presented about itinerary in Thailand. My group had done in Maehongson. I felt enjoy and happy in this class.

Today, I learned how to write the itinerary travel. Teacher ordered to write itinerary plan for summer in Thailand. Then She ordered to wok in group for making itinerary by powerpoint. I think this unit was interesting and had fun.

Unit 4 Telephone Messages 2

I had a writing for communication class.
I learned about the telephone messages.

I practiced talking on the phone,wrote note a message and exchange with my friend to check and wrote. The teacher helped to check and wrote correct of my telephone messages.

        Yesterday , I had a writing for communication class. I learned about Unit 4 Telephone Messages and did exercises about telephone conversation and answer the question.I was practiced to take a message by pretended to a receptionist. I'm very haapy to learn that because I more to understand.

Unit 11 Small Advertisements



    
   Today,  I had to study a writing for communication class 1.
I learned on unit 11 about Small Advertisements. I learnt about how to write a small ad. such as selling used things, looking for something ,to need something and etc. I thought it is a fun, easy and in the future I write it and  the teacher assigned homework to advertising.

Unit 10 Completing Form


        
 
          Yesterday I had writing for communication class1.I learned about Completing Forms. It's look difficult because  have to fill in the correct information but I tried to understand it and teacher explain   I can understood. I think this unit is very important for me on the future because I may have to use it and teacher had assigned find a website of an education institution that offers English courses.

I learned about invitation cards and did the practics in the class. I thought it's difficult and important to specify in the invitation.
